We did fly this weekend but each day storms built up around midday and yesterday a front moved in at around 13h00. On Saturday there was hardly any wind so we did some foefies from the saddle and later did a bit of soaring before the clouds overdeveloped. Yesterday was a bit better with a few hours of soaring before we had to stop flying.
There were a lot of local pilots at Bulwer for flying on Sunday. Conditions were extremely light for most of the day, but in the afternoon it switched on and we had some nice flying.
Wild Sky Paragliding offers an introductory (two day) paragliding course. Starting on the training slope, there is an introductory lecture, demonstration by the instructor, then students pull up the glider with assistance from the intsructor and learn to steer the glider and stop. Gradually working your way up the training slope, you will eventually lift off the ground and experience the feeling of free flight. The course includes at least one flight under guidance on radio. Thats right, within two days you will already be flying!
The flying conditions have been really good at Bulwer. Helmut Brune has completed his course with a great flight yesterday. We've been flying a lot at Sun City with some really good conditions.
Student Roger logged 7 flights at Sun City on Thursday, and 6 flights on Friday at Bulwer. On Saturday Aiden and Roger had one flight at Centocow and two flights at Bulwer before the rain came through at 14h00. We then had 40mm of rain Saturday night and 30mm Sunday night.
It was a fab flying day at Bulwer, with Hans flying 22kms out and back to Bulwer 10km. There were a nice amount of local pilots in the sky, including hanggliders.
