It was another beautiful autumn morning. The wind is light East it looks like a nice day for paragliding.
Its been a really good week. Students Rudi and Corne logged 25 flights each in four days flying. On Saturday Rudi Cronje got to 1900 meter above take off flying from Centocow and flew to Sani Pass. Yesterday Josh flew to Underberg, Himeville and back to the triangle dams. Philip was 1km short of the Sani Pass Crossroads.
We did fly this weekend but each day storms built up around midday and yesterday a front moved in at around 13h00. On Saturday there was hardly any wind so we did some foefies from the saddle and later did a bit of soaring before the clouds overdeveloped. Yesterday was a bit better with a few hours of soaring before we had to stop flying.
There were a lot of local pilots at Bulwer for flying on Sunday. Conditions were extremely light for most of the day, but in the afternoon it switched on and we had some nice flying.
We had a great weekend with students logging some good flights at two different flying sites, Centocow and the Bulwer 1000.
Wild Sky Paragliding offers an introductory (two day) paragliding course. Starting on the training slope, there is an introductory lecture, demonstration by the instructor, then students pull up the glider with assistance from the intsructor and learn to steer the glider and stop. Gradually working your way up the training slope, you will eventually lift off the ground and experience the feeling of free flight. The course includes at least one flight under guidance on radio. Thats right, within two days you will already be flying!
Our visitors from Reunion all had great flying last Thursday, climbing up to 3000 meters above take off. Students Laura and Martin had great flying.
The flying conditions have been really good at Bulwer. Helmut Brune has completed his course with a great flight yesterday. We've been flying a lot at Sun City with some really good conditions.
